As well as hiring out our equipment (click here), we also can assist with planning, installation, etc.
Should you be unfamiliar with technical equipment, or not have access to sufficient tech savvy people, why not ask ODS to do it all for you? With years of experience in working at smaller locations, the ODS technical team are ideally placed to offer a complete bespoke service.
Amongst the services we offer are:
- Venue survey. We'll visit your venue, offer advice on best use of, & limitations of, available power. We'll also offer advice on the best mix of lamps & effects for your show & chosen venue.
- Lighting design. We'll visit you (preferably in your chosen location) & attend your technical meeting. We'll draw up a working list of priorities for your show, match it with your available budget, & complete a full lighting design plan from which you may operate.
- Installation service. This may be coupled with the venue survey, or if you're happy to carry out that piece of work yourself, this is a stand-alone offering. We'll bring all the kit you've hired (plus a bit more to be on the safe side), & not only install it for you in your chosen venue, but train your people in its use.
- Operations service. Should you either take advantage of one our other offerings, or discover that you have insufficient people to conduct the operation of your technical rig for part of or the full duration of your show, we'll come & do it all for you. We'll arrive in time for full familiarisation of your script & action, ensuring that you are relieved of any technical worries.
- De-installation service. As the name suggests, this is the opposite of our installation service: de-rig and removal of the equipment provided. This service also includes the transport of any hired equipment back to ODS, thus relieving you of the worry of return.
All services are offered on a first-come,first-served basis and allowance should be made for technician availability. ODS will never double-book technicians, if they're not available we'll tell you, and once you have booked them, they're yours.
As part of the bespoke service offerings, ODS will currently levy mileage expenses at the fixed rate of £0.45 (45p) per round trip mile (rate correct as at June 2010).
Take-up of multiple service offerings will naturally lead to a discount in mileage expense rates applied.

All ODS hire is based upon client collection from our base in Overton, Hampshire. Transport to and from your chosen venue may be possible. ODS current mileage charges are as follows:
- Five mile radius from Overton, £10
- Up to Ten mile radius from Overton, £15
- Up to Twenty mile radius from Overton, £25
- Up to Thirty mile radius from Overton, £35
- Up to Fifty mile radius from Overton, £50
We will always strive to keep our vehicle use to a minimum, however should the hire mean that one vehicle in physically incapable of safely transporting the required equipment and/or technicians, a further vehicle will be utilised and additional mileage expense charges will be levied as a result.
All mileage distances will be calculated using a UK motoring organisation website route planning facility.
Costs
All projects are unique, thus they're all priced individually. Please e-mail your requirements & we'll price your bespoke package. As a guide, hourly rates are £9.00 per person.
